Reaching Kids First to Reach the World

Kids are the doorway to the family. But they are more than just a doorway. They hold and captivate the heart of the Father—and they are incredibly important. Jesus models how important children are throughout his entire ministry:

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

— Matthew 18:1-5

At Kids First Ministries, we believe that kids matter to God. It’s the reason that we drove buses for 20+ years to pick up kids for church from apartment complexes, trailer parks and homes in all types of neighborhoods. It’s the reason we built puppets from scratch and created elaborate stage designs and decorated them with incredible characters and passionate leaders we trained. It’s the reason we completely wore our hands out tying animal balloons for Fall festivals in Greenville, SC or in places like Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Honduras, Romania, Russia or South Africa in order to have the opportunity to share the story of Jesus with kids and families! It's the reason we help Kidmin leaders add tools like ventriloquism, gospel illusions, impromptu stories, out front puppetry and so much more. Reaching kids matters to God!

And if you’re still reading, we believe they matter to you as well.

In the U.S. alone, 500,000+ children right now are in foster care, which means that either their parents are incarcerated, their parent has a drug problem, or their parents are just simply living life without them.

They need Jesus. They need life change. They need hope. When Jesus is in the middle of a family, everything changes!
